Having spent just over a decade working as a sales executive with De Beers, one of the world’s largest diamond producers, there is little about diamonds that Satta isn’t aware of; from a rough diamond to a polished gem and on to being forever cherished as a stunning piece of jewellery.
Satta’s passion for diamonds and gemstones led her to craving a more interactive relationship with them, bringing the creation of the Satta Matturi Fine Jewellery brand.
Although not formally trained as a jewellery designer, Satta’s ability to fuse instincts and creative inspirations with design, allows her to create pieces that are distinctly different to many other fine jewellery offerings today.
Being British and West African, Satta has combined deep felt traditions and heritage from Africa and mixed them with a global view of trends, attitudes and expressions to create a niche fine jewellery line that would resonate with independent fashion conscious women looking for a different interpretation of jewellery.
Satta has travelled the world extensively and has an innate passion for the old and new emerging Africa, which she brings into her designs.
She also earnestly maintains her keen interest in the rough diamond mid-stream industry by managing a diamond procurement and advisory consultancy.
Satta enjoys travel, and spending quality time with her family.
She lives between Botswana, where she currently resides and the UK.
